Meet the Bryants Road Vet team

We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated team at Bryants Road Vet. Our vets and vet nurses are huge animal lovers who treat every animal that comes through our door like they are their own.

Meet Dr Caroline

Dr Caroline Kerr - owner of Bryants Road Vet

Growing up on a farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW – with a dog, cats and plenty of pet goats – it seemed destined that Dr Caroline would end up working with animals.

Caroline has an extensive research background, obtaining a PhD in animal (skin) cancer research before studying to become a vet.

She spent much of her veterinary career working in large referral hospitals. This included a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists and the Pet Emergency Hospital before working at the University of Queensland’s emergency vet clinic and then the Animal Referral Hospital. She also spent time working at the RSCPA as an animal trainer and in the vet clinic.

So, there’s not much Caroline hasn’t come across when it comes to pets and their health issues!

Three months ago, Caroline purchased Bryants Road Vet. She is committed to providing professional, personalised care for all pets, and helping to improve the lives of the clinic’s patients and their families.

Caroline has a particular interest in behavioural medicine and has undertaken further training in this area. When not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family (including her two Labradors Amy and Bella and Hemsworth the cat) and gardening.

Meet Tharryn

Vet nurse Tharryn - Bryants Road Vet team

Tharryn has been working as a vet nurse at Bryants Road Vet for just over a year, following a career in retail. As a child, she always found herself trying to help and rescue wildlife, and had lots of pets growing up, ranging from farm animals, and companion pets to rescued wildlife.

Her favourite part of being a vet nurse? The feeling she gets when she helps sick animals recover and they give her that look of “thank you”.

Tharryn is our wildlife guru at the clinic and has undertaken further training in wildlife care and stress-free handling. She’s kept busy at home with six cats (Steve, Lenny, Parker, Tea Pot, Frankie and Digby) and a dog called Russell.

Meet Dr Christy

Dr Christy - Bryants Road Vet

Dr Christy grew up in Hong Kong and joined Bryants Road Vet Clinic as a vet 4 years ago. She’s always wanted to work with animals, even volunteering for a rabbit rescue organisation during high school.

As a vet, she loves being able to make a difference in someone’s life and has a particular interest in surgery and pocket pets. At home, Christy has two cats – a food-loving six-year-old cat named Mumma and her daughter Blackie – who look nothing alike.

Meet Casey

A local Brisbane girl, Casey worked in automotive retail for 11 years before becoming a vet nurse. She has a massive soft spot for Dachshunds, and now has two of them as pets – the aptly named Kransky and Klaus.

Casey loves getting to know all the patients that come into the clinic and finds the most rewarding part of the job seeing patients recover and go home with their families after their stay at the clinic.

Meet Cathy

Ever since she was a child, Cathy wanted to work with animals. Growing up in northern China, she was raised in a family who loved animals, and they had all sorts of pets over the years.

Cathy enjoys every moment of working with animals at the clinic. She sees each patient as being completely unique with different needs, with some pets wanting lots of pats and cuddles and others needing more space and less handling.

Outside of work, Cathy is a bit of a foodie who also enjoys reading, camping and watching movies. She also loves spending time with her Ragdoll cat Bella, Border Collie Jasper and Bumblebee the goldfish.

The Bryants Road Vet Clinic difference

Being a smaller, independent vet clinic, we have a strong focus on personalised care. Our team like to take the time to get to know both you and your pet, which is why all of our consultations are 30 minutes long.

Dr Caroline, Casey, Tharryn, Cathy and Dr Christy would love to look after your dog, cat or pocket pet. To book an appointment, call us on 3801 1744 or drop into the clinic at 141 Bryants Road, Loganholme.
