With the rising cost of living affecting so many of us, we know how challenging it can be to manage unexpected veterinary expenses. That’s why we’re committed to being open and honest about our pricing, helping you understand what goes into the costs, and offering practical ways to make high-quality care as affordable as possible.
One key factor in veterinary costs is the lack of a system like Medicare for pets. In Australia, human health care and medications are heavily subsidised by government programs such as Medicare and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), making treatments and medications more affordable for people. Unfortunately, no equivalent exists for animals, meaning the full cost of veterinary care must be covered by pet owners.
To maintain a veterinary clinic that delivers quality care, significant expenses must be covered. And like everything these days, these costs have significantly increased over recent years. These include:
Additionally, we invest in continuing education for all of our staff to stay on top of latest advancements in veterinary medicine, ensuring your pets receive the best care possible.
Just like with human healthcare, the cost of veterinary services can vary between practices. This variation reflects differences in:
We strive to balance these factors to provide the highest standard of care at the most reasonable price.
We are committed to helping you make informed decisions about your pet’s care. Before proceeding with any treatment or diagnostic tests, we provide a detailed estimate of costs. While these estimates are not definitive due to the unpredictability of medical conditions, they give you a clear understanding of potential expenses upfront.
Additionally, we benchmark our prices to ensure they remain competitive while reflecting the quality and comprehensiveness of our services. As we aren’t able to compete with online animal pharmacies, we are proud to partner with PetPA, which is a service that allows us to provide cost-saving options for medications. While pets do need a consult and a script to access medications (unless it’s a chronic disease and we can see then just every six months), PetPA provides you easy access to medications at lower prices than we can offer directly, ensuring affordability without compromising care.
At Bryants Road Vet, we believe in delivering exceptional veterinary care while helping our clients manage costs. We are upfront about fees, offer a range of payment options including VetPay payment plans, the ability to pay just your gap through GapOnly if you have eligible pet insurance, and do everything possible to keep expenses down without compromising the quality of care. We also offer Wellness Plans through Thriving Pets, which cover many of the things that aren’t included in pet insurance.
Your pet’s health and happiness are our top priorities, and we are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions about our fees or services, please don’t hesitate to ask – we are always happy to explain the value behind the care we provide.
